Plans for Dome Casino Trumped |
Online Casino News reports that plans to use the Millennium Dome as a huge casino cannot go ahead because of outdated British legislation.
The Dome has already cost £800 million. It was given away to Anschutz Entertainment in May this year in return for a share of future profits.
But a specific rule bans huge casinos the size of Caesars Palace from Britain. Anshutz Entertainment had hinted that it would consider a casino as part of its redevelopment plans and it known that Park Palace Entertainment, the worlds largest gambling company, was looking at the Dome as a possible first step towards moving into Britain. It was expected that the move would bring in millions in profits.
AEG Europes managing director Detlef Kornett said, In order for the casino to be built, the legislation needs to change and Greenwich Council needs to give its approval.

Sportingbet believes it will be reintroduced at the start of the 108th term, early next year. In the US, bills must be passed prior to the adjournment of Congress, or the process starts from scratch next time around. [...]
