• Isle Of Man Softening To US Wagers

The Isle of Man may allow its licensed internet gambling operations to accept wagers from the American market after the Department of Trade and Industry submitted a report to the Council of Ministers on gambling jurisdiction on the Isle of Man. The report, which investigates the potential opportunities and risks regarding possible shift in the gambling policy, will then be used to ascertain the viability of restrictions concerning US gambling activity, implemented in order to favour the US large gambling companies MGM Mirage and Kerzner International who have since closed their IOM online operations. The Department of Trade and Industry had consulted with interested parties, locally and internationally. According to different resources, the government hails the initiative and is about to rule in favour of allowing individual companies to decide for themselves whether or not to accept US bets. New gambling policy is expected, by different experts, to give a substantial boost for the island’s e-gambling business.
